Owen Kleidon
Director, General Manager

Owen has developed the ability to connect and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, authorities and trades across all levels, after having worked in the design and construction industry for almost 30 years.

He has a deep knowledge and understanding of planning and regulatory legislative requirements, and brings that expertise to the StruXi stable of clients. Owen is highly skilled in understanding and satisfying the needs of clients, users, statutory authorities and design consultants, working holistically to provide an optimal outcome for all parties.

It’s his real industry experience across vast numbers of projects which gives him the ability to understand potential issues, identify and implement improved processes, and offer quality practices to efficiently see jobs through to completion.

Owen is also currently the Treasurer of the Building Designers Association of Queensland (BDAQ). This position is one of four elected Executive appointments on the State Management Committee. Before accepting the position of Treasurer, Owen was a committee member for a number of years, and is also currently the Regional Events Coordinator for the South West branch.

Outside of StruXi Design, Owen has been on the Management Committee for the Toowoomba Bears Rugby Club in some capacity for the past 10 years. He has been the former Club President and is now a Life Member of the Club, while also being a member of Downs Rugby Junior and Teenage sub-committees for many years. He also enjoys going to watch the Queensland Reds play as often as possible.

He enjoys an occasional long drive with a nice camping spot as the destination.

Owen is currently studying for a Graduate Certificate in Building Design.

Erin Smith
Business Manager

Erin joined the StruXi team in 2008 in the role of Business Administrator. Having worked in both small to large businesses in a variety of finance roles, she bought a wealth of experience with her and has become an vital member of the team.

In 2016 Erin became StruXi's Business Manager. This role requires Erin to have oversight of the business operations, including finance, people, process and procedures.

Erin has completed a Certificate IV in Bookkeeping.

When not in the office Erin enjoys being outdoors. She also loves reading and spending time with her children and husband.

Shelley Carlile
Interior Designer

Shelley leads the Design Team providing valuable input into the design of our projects from both a functional and aesthetic perspective.

She is a tertiary qualified Interior Designer and has been an integral member of the StruXi team since 2012.

She continuously works to deliver efficient, creative and innovative design solutions for our Clients.

Her role includes concept design, visual presentations, marketing material, selections and proposals of construction materials, fixtures and fittings.

She strives to develop a wide range of design themes and product solutions for residential, commercial and industrial projects.

Outside of work Shelley feeds her creativity through sewing and various forms of craft. You will also find her reading the day away with a good book.

Peter Wetherspoon
Building Designer

Peter is lucky enough to hold the title of StruXi’s longest serving employee. He has been an integral member of the design team since 2007 and came into the Building Design field with over 25 years’ trade experience as a Commercial Joiner. As a joiner, he worked on a number of high profile projects such as the Brisbane Law Courts and the Treasury Casino. Since making the change to the design office, he has completed a Certificate IV in Residential Drafting.

Peter’s main role as a Building Designer at StruXi is to take projects from the initial hand-sketch concept and further develop the design to a stage where drawings can be signed off by the Client.

His role requires a very high attention to detail with the various design compliance issues having to be resolved prior to being handed onto other team members for completion at the working drawing stage.

Whilst not at work Peter spends his time practising and teaching karate, something which he has done continuously since his teenage years.

Marc Robson
Building Designer

Marc has been a Building Designer with StruXi since March of 2014.

Marc has over 20 years’ experience in building design consultation, having worked in engineering, architecture and building design firms. These 20 years are in addition to nearly 10 years of “on site” experience. He has been involved with a range of design projects ranging from project homes through to multi-storey apartment buildings. With a good knowledge of building design, construction engineering and steel & mechanical detailing he brings a wealth of knowledge to StruXi's design team.

Marc’s passion away from work is photography. In particular he enjoys photographing architecture, interiors, cars and portraits.

Lauren Charlesworth
Office Assistant

During 2010, while a student at St Joseph’s College, Lauren was one of StruXi Design’s work experience students. Soon after completing high school, she joined the StruXi team full time.

Lauren is the “gate-keeper” of the StruXi office. She ensures that all of our Clients and Consultants are greeted with a big smile and are made to feel welcome and comfortable when they arrive at the office. In her role as Office Assistant, she is involved in several aspects of the Company activities and completes many “behind the scenes” tasks to assist all members of the StruXi team, including reception, filing, document control and marketing assistance.

Lauren enjoys keeping active, camping and spending time with family and friends. She is currently studying a Bachelor of Building Design externally through Central Queensland University.

Breearna (Bree) Croker
Technical & Administrative Assistance

After completing her senior schooling in 2015, Bree joined the StruXi team as a full time Cadet Designer. Fast forward ten months and Bree accepted a new role within the Company, as a Technical & Administrative Assistant.

This role requires Bree to assist the Director in managing customer relationships before a project commences, ensures all of our Client requirements are received and understood. She then sources the relevant background information pertaining to the project and assists in the preparation of offers to our Clients.

In 2017 Bree decided to further her development within the design industry and began studying Architecture part time through Curtin University.

Bree is finding the study of architecture provides her with an outlet for her enjoyment of painting and sketching, particularly when applied to the built form.

Jordon Waters
Cadet Designer

Originally from St George, Jordon relocated to Toowoomba and joined the StruXi team in 2016. Having excelled in Graphics in high school, he followed his passion, which led him to Building Design and he began his career as a Cadet Designer. He has since been expanding his knowledge in all elements of building design and enjoys the diversity that each day brings.

Jordon has accepted the responsibility within the office of keeping the drafting library and systems ordered and up-to-date.

Jordon enjoys hiking and is currently in training for the Kokoda Challenge. He has also found a new passion for photography. Amongst other subjects he finds the time to frequently photograph our projects through construction.

Jack Fraser
Cadet Designer

Jack is the most recent addition to StruXi Design having joined the team at the start of 2017 after completing his senior year at Centenary Heights State High School. Employed as a Cadet Designer, he is currently studying a Diploma of Building Design through TAFE and enjoys the creative and technical aspects of designing.

In his role, Jack actively assists the senior staff with on-site measure ups and design documentation. He gains knowledge from all parts of the design stages that StruXi undertakes and offer to our clients.

Outside of work Jack enjoys frequent trips to the beach and hanging out with friends and family.
