26 Carrington Road
This modern and commercially vibrant industrial building houses a machinery sales and maintenance business in the industrial epicentre of Toowoomba.
The design maximises the buildings lettable area whilst also complying with local authority planning scheme performance requirements.
The building creates a striking impression from the street and engages the public through the balance of solid and void elements in the facade.
The covered entry portico provides a pause point before entering the building and allows natural light and cross ventilation to enter the depth of the building from its desired north eastern orientation.
Adoption of environmental sustainable design methods provides an excellent passive solar building orientation with an extensive onsite collection, detention and storage of rain water.
The Client’s brief was achieved in providing a responsive building that draws the eye of passing motorists, attracting the best of tenants. The design was awarded the 2010 BDAQ regional design award for “Best Industrial Building”.
