StruXi Design has undertaken multiple retail and service station projects state-wide and is continuing to provide architectural services for master planning, concept design, planning documentation, construction documentation and construction services in this area. Our expertise covers a diversity of scope that includes upgrades to existing facilities, new standard service stations and flagship projects, often accommodating a combination of multiple retail tenancies.
This project was one of the more complicated. Located on a major traffic route with four meters of cross fall, sewer trunk mains crossing the site in two directions and old fuel tanks requiring replacement the challenge was laid out from the very beginning. Residential zoning on the site made for robust negotiations with Council.
The design represents a departure from the formula based outcomes so often presented by service stations and instead is a modern and balanced building that sits comfortably within its environment. Although the major tenant is clearly dominant on the site articulation of the façade provides the required opportunity for smaller tenants to create their own identity, distinct from their neighbour.
StruXi Design undertook the key roles of Lead Consultant, Building Designer and Project Manager (Superintendent) from the concept stage all the way through to the end of construction.
